So basically 64-bit kernel will remain a hindrance until all 3rd party hardware drivers and plugins (such as VMware, printer drivers, camera drivers, etc.) are recompiled to become compatible. As for GMA 945, there are drivers available in 64 bit, the problem is that these video cards do not support OpenGL4 which is what mountain lion uses for some parts of their new operating system.
